Het cultureel kapitaal betekenis

Cultureel kapitaal is het geheel van kennis, cognitieve vaardigheden en opleiding van een persoon waarmee sociale privileges verworven of behouden kunnen worden. Daarmee is het van invloed op de sociale mobiliteit. Cultureel kapitaal houdt volgens Bourdieu de beheersing van culturele competenties in. Culturele competenties die eigen zijn aan hogere sociale posities. Het zijn de schoolse kennis, houdingen, opvattingen en smaak die kenmerkend zijn voor hoge sociale posities. Het is de 'know-how' van de gebruiken en normen & waarden van mensen die het.
